Apparently, weekend-before-last's eating indiscretions have caught up with me. Looking forward to what next week might bring. To look at the bright side, I'm still ahead of my one pound per week goal...for now.

While my week one losses look amazing, I know that I'm simply peeing out the salt I ingested over the Holidays. Looking forward to seeing what next week brings.

Yet another restart
As the new year begins, and my pants would hardly button, I reflected on my fitness failures of the last few years. Due to a series of stresses, reoccurring and persistent training injuries, and very poor eating habits - especially over the holidays - I have gained a ton of weight. For those of you that don't know, here is my fitness story.
I've been fat all my life. I wore "husky" (that's what we called fat kid clothes in the 60's) clothes in Elementary School. High School and College we not much better. Fast forward to 2009; I had ballooned to 287 pounds. After a very strict diet and several months, I weighed 214. I lost 72 pounds. I lost so much weight that my Niece's daughter didn't even recognize me. Over time, I let that weight creep up to where as of January 1, 2016, I weighed 255.
In 2016, I have set my goal to lose a pound a week. My target weight is 200. Even at 200, I will be considered "overweight" according to the BMI index. So, how am I going to accomplish this loss?

- I will be posting my results every Wednesday morning to Facebook and my fitness blog.
- I will "eat clean" at least 80% of the time.
- I will visit the gym at least four times a week; two cardio, two strength training.
- I will stumble, but I will persist!
Thanks for your support and feel free to "call me out", as needed.
